Academic Year 2017-2018

Note from Prof Aissa Wade

President, AIMS Senegal

It’s a new academic year at AIMS Senegal and the entire team of staff is poised to accompany an exciting mix of 42 students from Benin, Cameroon, Chad, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Nigeria, Tanzania, Togo, Senegal and Uganda. The special thing about this cohort, 9 of whom are female, is that they are signed up for a one hundred percent co-op program. This is a milestone for our centre, as the first Co-operative (Co-op) Master’s program was launched at AIMS Senegal in 2016 with 12 students.

Our freshmen will undergo an 18-month-long program, consisting of course work and internships with our industry partners. At the end of this training, they will be awarded Master’s degrees in Mathematics, with specializations in Big Data and Computer Security.
