Its mission is to enable Africa&#8217;s brightest students to flourish as independent thinkers, problem solvers and innovators capable of propelling Africa&#8217;s future scientific, educational and economic self-sufficiency.<br>The African Masters of Machine Intelligence (AMMI) program launched this past September 2018 provides brilliant young Africans with state-of-the-art training in Machine Learning and its applications. The AMMI program is part of AIMS ecosystem of advancement of Machine Learning in the service of global society.<br>The incumbent will also carry out other tasks as required for the design and completion of successful programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Responsibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Management of AMMI-Senegal<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>As a full-time employee of AMMI, he\/she will take a leading role in representing AMMI at meeting, strategies and plans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage programme\u2019s students, tutors, AIMS staff and visitors for the programme.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage contracts involving AMMI in Senegal (transportation, accommodation, medical insurance, catering, etc).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Operations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Manage in\/out flow of lecturer and lecturers\u2019 assistants (including flights, accommodation, transportation, etc).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage in\/out flow of students (including flights, accommodation, transportation, health insurance, registration, badges, etc).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor and ensure high students\u2019 academic performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage students to ensure they maintain a physical, mental and moral level of engagement to complete the programme<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare for yearly orientation week for admitted students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Administration and Financial System<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Maintaining a financial system aligned with Senegalese legal rules and donor norms including:<ul><li>Assisting the budgeting process<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Fund payment and disbursement process<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Procurement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Produce programme\u2019s petit cash &amp; monthly expense reports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare all administration payment document for the program and insure they are processed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Ensuring that there is uninterruptible infrastructure including electricity, water, internet, security and liaising with the service providers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensuring that the AMMI offices (tutors, etc) and classroom are furnished with all the necessary furniture and equipment needed for study, research work and general administration tasks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure all facility needs are met for Students, Tutors, Lecturers, and program\u2019s staff).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Communications and Public Engagement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Driving the development of a communication plan with the AIMS team.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensuring the communication plan is implemented.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain and ensure website and social media platforms\u2019 contents are up-to-date.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Seminars, Workshops and Conferences<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Assist the development and implementation of seminars, workshop and conference programmes as well as graduation ceremonies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>General<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Manage on-campus and off-campus students\u2019 activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure clear line of communication with students\u2019 representatives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resolve AMMI programme\u2019s day-to-day challenges\/issues in Mbour\/Senegal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage overall AMMI operations on campus and ensure supervisor is aware of progress of assigned tasks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Report any emergency cases to AIMS centre and supervisor immediately.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain and ensure excellent communication with the person he\/she reports to as well as everyone he\/she interacts with.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"grey-message\"><strong>For more information about this job, please download the attached file<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"blue-message\">For documents submission, please send to <a href=\"mailto:opportunities@aimsammi.org\">opportunities@aimsammi.org<\/a>  deadline : 07\/15\/2024<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS, www.nexteinstein.org) is a Pan-African network of centres of excellence for postgraduate training, research and outreach in mathematical sciences.
