Steven est n\u00e9 dans la ville de Kitale, au Kenya. Son lien et son amour pour la science, en particulier les math\u00e9matiques et la chimie, peuvent \u00eatre attribu\u00e9s \u00e0 ses ann\u00e9es d'\u00e9cole primaire et secondaire. Cela l'a amen\u00e9 \u00e0 s'inscrire \u00e0 un BSc en sciences actuarielles \u00e0 l'Universit\u00e9 d'Eldoret, au Kenya, o\u00f9 il a non seulement excell\u00e9, mais \u00e9galement occup\u00e9 le poste de pr\u00e9sident de l'Association des math\u00e9matiques de l'Universit\u00e9. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette association, il a pu travailler avec des coll\u00e8gues universitaires pour promouvoir les math\u00e9matiques et inciter les \u00e9l\u00e8ves du secondaire \u00e0 poursuivre la discipline. Apr\u00e8s l'obtention de son dipl\u00f4me, Steven a \u00e9t\u00e9 impliqu\u00e9 dans le d\u00e9veloppement du logiciel statistique open-source bas\u00e9 sur R pour favoriser la compr\u00e9hension des statistiques en Afrique et dans le monde entier tout en faisant du b\u00e9n\u00e9volat avec l'African Maths Initiative - connu comme le premier logiciel statistique d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 en Afrique pour le reste du monde. monde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


En tant qu'\u00e9tudiant coop \u00e0 AIMS S\u00e9n\u00e9gal, o\u00f9 il a doubl\u00e9 en tant que repr\u00e9sentant des boursiers de l'AIMS S\u00e9n\u00e9gal et de l'AIMS Global Network Mastercard Foundation, il a renforc\u00e9 et \u00e9largi sa compr\u00e9hension des math\u00e9matiques, de la science des donn\u00e9es et des comp\u00e9tences en leadership. Passionn\u00e9 de Machine Learning et de Deep Learning, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 parmi les rares s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s pour participer \u00e0 la conf\u00e9rence Indaba 2018 Deep Learning en Afrique du Sud. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steven est un Data Scientist avec une exp\u00e9rience d\u00e9montr\u00e9e de travail sur des projets transformant l'agriculture (petits agriculteurs) et l'enseignement sup\u00e9rieur en Afrique. Ma\u00eetrise de la programmation R & Python, de l'analyse de donn\u00e9es statistiques et de la mod\u00e9lisation statistique, Steven a effectu\u00e9 son stage \u00e0 Manobi, puis a glan\u00e9 le poste de responsable scientifique \u00e0 l'ICRISAT.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\n

Steven was born in the town of Kitale, Kenya. His connection and love for science, especially mathematics and chemistry, can be traced to his elementary and high school years. This led him to enrol for a BSc in Actuarial Science at the University of Eldoret, Kenya, where he not only excelled but equally served as President of the Mathematics Association of the University. Through this association, he was able to work with fellow scholars to promote mathematics and inspire high school students to pursue the discipline. After graduation, Steven was involved in developing the open-source statistical software built on R to foster understanding of Statistics in Africa and the entire world while volunteering with the African Maths Initiative \u2013 known as the first statistical software developed from Africa for the rest of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


As a Co-op student at AIMS Senegal, where he doubled as the AIMS Senegal and AIMS Global Network Mastercard Foundation Scholar Representative, he strengthened and broadened his understanding of mathematics, data science, and leadership skills. A Machine Learning and Deep Learning enthusiast, he was among the few selected to participate in the Indaba 2018 Deep learning conference in South Africa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steven is a Data Scientist with a demonstrated history of working on projects transforming agriculture (small-scale farmers) and Tertiary Education in Africa.
