Post-AIMS Travel Grants

Applications Open

AIMS offers US $ 2,000 travel grants to recent graduates or alumni (who have been AIMS graduates for one year) who have never benefited from the post-AIMS fellowship program and wish to undertake graduate studies. Research Master / Professional or PhD Research / Professional in an institution outside the African continent.

Goals and objectives

The post-AIMS travel grant is part of the post-AIMS scholarship program which aims to:

Support the development of research capacity in countries hosting AIMS centres and institutions on the African continent; and
Support student professional development, which can translate into direct application of their skills in development sectors/industries on the African continent.

This is to ensure that through AIMS, African tertiary institutions and industries can contribute to research-based knowledge and, or innovations developed by young African researchers based in Africa.

The travel grant component of the post-AIMS scholarship program is a mechanism through which AIMS aims to support students wishing to study outside of Africa, but who need only one ticket to enable them to seize these study opportunities.

Applications

Only applicants who have secured full funding from institutions outside Africa are eligible for a post-AIMS travel grant.

Qualified candidates should submit their applications directly to the AIMS Global Secretariat using the email address: postaimstravelgrants@nexteinstein.org and keep their Centre Academic Director in copy.
