Organized from July 1 to 5, the summer school “Statistics and data science for young researchers from French-speaking Africa” is a project initiated by members of the Young Statisticians group of the French Society of Statistics (SFdS) in association with the Research Chair in Mathematics and its Applications of AIMS Senegal.
These areas of research are very promising, in particular due to the challenges represented by the analysis, management and processing of large volumes of data. With this in mind, three courses in statistics and data science were illustrated by concrete applications in line with the socio-economic challenges of the continent such as health, agriculture and the environment through presentations by expert researchers, as well as as presentations of the research work of young researchers.
The summer school hosted around 48 researchers from Francophone Africa, including some members of the French Statistical Society (SFdS).
