AIMS and IVADO join forces to propel the next generation of African scientists in data science

AIMS is proud to collaborate with the Institute for Data Valorization (IVADO) in the framework of training in mathematical sciences, to enable young Africans to develop as data scientists. Through this partnership, IVADO offers scholarships to AIMS Masters students, allowing them to carry out supervised research stays in the following Quebec university centers: the University of Montreal, Polytechnique Montreal and HEC Montreal. The Apogée Canada Research Excellence Fund made this project a reality.

We are proud of the first batch of eight students from AIMS Senegal (3), AIMS Cameroon (2) and AIMS Rwanda (3), who will benefit from the support of professors from different Montreal universities from June to September 2019 to Montreal. The cohort consists of Yasser Salah Eddine Bouchareb from Algeria, Patricia Talotsing and Junior Momo Ziazet from Cameroon, Sara .EM Elkafrawy from Egypt, Janet Mutuku from Kenya, Nneka Okolo from Nigeria, Matar Ndongo from Senegal and Ola Badr from Sudan. Find out more here.
