Stéphane Ouvry is Director of Research at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique. He is a co-founder of the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics and Statistical Models (LPTMS), Faculté des Sciences d’Orsay where he currently works. He is a former student of Ecole Normale Supérieure de la rue d’Ulm in Paris. He defended his State Thesis (Thèse d’Etat) at Université Pierre et Marie Curie on problems related to the question of “naturality” in high energy physics. In 1989, Stephane Ouvry made a change of research field from the Physics of High Energy to Statistical Physics of Low Dimension Systems. His present research interests concern statistical physics and condensed matter, ranging from random lattice walks to fractional quantum statistics.
